MT. HOLLY RACE PROGRAMS

THUNDERBOLT RACING

Thunderbolt Training Centers offers ski race training for young skiers. This program will improve your overall skiing ability and prepare you to become a serious racer. Our program includes balance development, gate drills, course tactics, starts and finishes, slalom and giant slalom training, plus individual and video analysis. All training is implemented using the U.S. Ski Team training standards.

2021 Thunderbolt Junior Development Racing Program

Our successful and most popular program is the Thunderbolt Junior Development Racing Program. This six-week racing program will begin January 6 or 7, 2021, based on your sign-up preferences. This is our base level of commitment for skiers of all abilities and race experience. It is for grades K - 8.

Racers will be grouped by age, ski ability, and race experience. We will work on free skiing drills each week for 45 minutes and then be in the gates using gate drills and full courses. We will start with Giant Slalom (larger turns) on week one and alternate between slalom (short turns) and giant slalom. All training is implemented using US Ski Teams Training Standards.

Please Note:
Helmet and goggles are mandatory.
Racers clearing gates must have a chin guard.
Hand, shin, forearm, and spine guards recommended.

The price includes the Sunday Morning Race Series and a Thunderbolt T-shirt. 

Attend once per week for six weeks: $375
Attend twice per week for six weeks: $475

REGISTER: MT. HOLLY JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Thunderbolt Sunday Morning Race Series

Participate in the competitive race experience on Sunday mornings. This is our popular race series where athletes can race in their own age group for single races as well as collect season long “World Cup” points. Weekly prizes and medals are awarded to athletes of all ages. The Sunday Race Series runs for seven weeks beginning at Pine Knob and alternating with Mt. Holly for seven total races. 

Combined timed racing open to all youth racers. Each week racers earn points towards the end of the season championship. Award ceremony immediately following each race. Open to ALL youth racers.

This series travels between Mt. Holly and Pine Knob.

New Belgium ​Adult Race League Mondays at Mt. Holly

Join our ski racing league for adult men and women, MONDAYS at Mt. Holly Ski Resort at 7:30 p.m.
The 2021 Monday Night New Belgium Ski League is a seven-week race program beginning January 4, 2021. This is team head-to-head racing. Each team consists of three to six racers. Don't have a team? ...we'll help you find one!
No race experience necessary.

  • Two Divisions: handicap and straight time
  • Racing starts at 7:30 p.m. each Monday night
  • Après Ski Race Party each race night (subject to current state requirements)
  • Trophies awarded to the top teams
  • Giveaways each week
  • Discounted lift tickets available

NASTAR RACING

When: Join in the fun at Mt. Holly on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 p.m.

Cost: $10 for two runs or $15 for unlimited runs on any given race day.

Thunderbolt Holiday Race Camp

Our Holiday Race Camp is designed to provide the serious racer, as well as the recreational skier, the opportunity for extensive early season gate training and coaching. December 27 - 31, 2020. Price: $475.00 

Areas of concentration include:
  • Ski improvement
  • Balance development
  • Timed runs / Race day preparation
  • Course tactics in both slalom and GS
  • Video analysis
