We are looking for ski and snowboard instructors for the Mt. Holly 2020/2021 season.
Would You Like To Be a Ski or Snowboard Instructor?

The Ski and Snowboard School at Mt. Holly Ski Resort is hiring for the 2020/21 season. Applicants must be 16 years of age and competent skiers/riders. No teaching experience is necessary.

Interested applicants should be skiers and snowboarders with solid skiing/riding skills who can be instructed on how to teach. An applicant does not have to be an expert skier/snowboarder; but must have good athletic skills, be able to communicate, have the ability to adapt their skiing/snowboarding style, and love to ski or ride.

During the annual hiring clinic, applicants will spend two full days on the snow improving their skills and learning how to teach. At the end of the second day, the names of those who will be apprentice instructors will be announced. Anyone who the clinicians determine to have (or can develop) the skills necessary to teach, and demonstrate a positive attitude, will be accepted.

The clinic will be held in December of 2020 - dates to be announced - at the Mt. Holly Ski Resort. There is no cost for the clinic, which includes lift tickets, instructor manual, and two days of hands-on education. Applicants must bring their own equipment and be ready to hit the slopes at 10:00 a.m. Check in at the ski/snowboard school desk between 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.
*NOTE: If the weather does not permit the clinic to go forward, then it will be rescheduled.

If hired, instructors are independent contractors and are not an employee of the resort. They will be paid on a commission basis. First year instructors will make $16.00 for a private lesson and $3.00 per student in a student patch lesson. Instructors need to be ready to teach at any time during their scheduled shift. Between lessons, they are free to ski/snowboard. Instructors will not be paid for the hours they do not teach.

Some of the requirements are:

• A minimum schedule of three times per week: M-F 10:00 a.m. until at least 2:00 p.m. or M-F by 5:00 p.m. until last lesson, Sat/Sun 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. until close. Checking in after 5:00 p.m. on weeknights is not usually acceptable.
• First Year Liability Insurance is $73.00 and must be paid prior to on your first day skiing/riding at the resort.

MT. HOLLY HIRING CLINIC ON FACEBOOK
Picture of Mt. Holly ski instructors in a training clinic. They are at the top of a hill, standing next to a small building that ski racers use as a starting point when they race. The shed is covered in snow and the surrounding area is very snowy. Everyone is dressed in red and black coats, winter gear, and their skis. They are talking about tips and techniques regarding teaching skiing.
Picture of Mt. Holly Ski and Snowboard School instructors standing in a group as they receive instruction in an instructors clinic. THere is not much snow on the ground yet and it looks to be a cold and gray November day, however they are eager to learn so that they can share their knowledge and skills with the students when they arrive.
Beginning in the autumn, we gather our instructors for training clinics. We continue to offer clinics and training over the course of the season to ensure that our certified instructors have the latest information, the best techniques, and the skills that can help our guests the most.
