Whether it's your first time out on the slopes or you are experienced but want to fine-tune your abilities, we work with you at your pace, while helping you to create skills that will last a lifetime.

We have a great selection of lesson options as well as ski racing training and leagues.
​With such a wide variety of programs to choose from, it's easy to find the perfect lesson or activity to suit your exact needs. From putting on that first boot to speeding down a race hill, we have you covered every step of the way.

SKI AND SNOWBOARD LESSONS

KINDERSPARKS
This 
 program is for beginning skiers ages 5-10. Group lessons are held in the beginner area only.

SKI CLUB PATCH LESSONS
School, church, and youth club students ages 7-18 meet at Mt. Holly or Pine Knob for group lessons. As students progress they earn patches and move on to the next level. An affordable and fun way to learn a lifelong skill.

DISCOVER MICHIGAN
During January, ski areas across the state teamed up with Michigan McDonald’s restaurants to offer an affordable introduction to the sport of skiing and snowboarding. ​
PRIVATE LESSONS
Receive personalized attention that moves at your pace and learn valuable lifetime skills. Take a single lesson or purchase a private lesson package. ​

SEMI-PRIVATE LESSONS
For two or a few students, this option is ideal for friends and family. A great way to enjoy skiing and snowboarding together while you learn new skills.

Mt. Holly is where memories are made and a favorite Michigan winter destination. We are grateful to be a large part of what makes it so special. We have been teaching skiing and snowboarding here for decades, sharing our passion, wisdom, and skills with our guests.

Mt. Holy is close to home, has 20 trails, three terrain parks, lifts for all levels of ability, and a heated patio with a fire pit. Add in a  great lodge filled with fireplaces, delicious food, and fun people and you have the recipe for winter magic. ​Nestled in Groveland valley, Mt. Holly is where the north begins and where your adventure starts. Join us this winter!

THUNDERBOLT RACING

THUNDERBOLT RACING

Explore your passion and the pursuit of excellence with Thunderbolt Racing. This program offers a wide variety of programs and events for racers at all levels which includes Holiday Camps, Junior Development, and a Sunday Race Series.

Thunderbolt Junior Development Program

Our successful and most popular program is the Thunderbolt Junior Development Racing Program. This six week racing program will begin January 6 or 8, 2022. This is our base level of commitment for skiers of all abilities and race experience. It is for grades K - 8. 

Adult Race Leagues 

The Saugatuck Brewing Adult Racing League is a fun way for adults to enjoy racing together in a supportive community. Stay active, be social, and have a blast out on the slopes this winter. For both men and women, and for both skiers and snowboarders, the adult race leagues include lift ticket discounts, a handicapping system that is beneficial to members of all abilities, and year-end rewards. Sign up by January 1, 2022 - registration coming soon.

Holiday Race Camp

Join our popular Holiday Race Camp December 27-31,2021. The Thunderbolt Race Camp is designed to give both competitive and recreational ski racers early season gate training and coaching. The cost is $500.00. Drop in for one day at either camp for $120.00. Camp is for grades K - 12. It's all about FUN!

Sunday Race Series

Compete in the 2022 Sunday Race Series Sunday mornings at Mt. Holly and Pine Knob. This is our popular race series where athletes can race in their own age group for single races as well as collect season long “World Cup” points. Weekly prizes and medals are awarded to athletes of all ages. The Sunday Race Series runs for seven weeks beginning at Mt. Holly and alternating with Pine Knob for seven total races. This year we will be adding easy slalom races and a combi if conditions permit. You may register with the form included in the 2022 Racing Brochure (COMING SOON).

Note: The Sunday Race series are included when students sign up for the Six Week Thunderbolt Junior Development Program.

Learn with Certified Ski and Snowboard Instructors at Mt. Holly

Our instructors go through extensive training clinics, workshops, and demonstrations through out the entire year. From the very beginning we ensure that our instructors are able to guide clients safely and effectively through all the levels of snow sports at the appropriate pace and with only the most effective of teaching tools. You're receiving top notch instruction and coaching when you choose Mt. Holly.

Picture of our New Ski Instructor Hiring Clinic which is held every December to ensure that all new instructors receive proper safety training and the information they will need to teach. In our Annual Hiring Clinic, new instructors spend two days out on the slopes learning everything they need to know about getting started with teaching at Mt. Holly. This will be followed up with additional clinics, coaching, and workshops throughout the season to ensure clients receive only the best instruction and coaching when they visit the Mt. Holly Ski and Snowboard School.
